A Thousand Words

A thousand words upon a page
Cannot bestow as much
As a simple line of poetry
Nor afford so sweet a touch

A glittering field of fallen snow
Can never mystify
As a simple crystal snowflake
That stays etched within the eye

A universe of stars above
Cannot evoke delight
As a single candle glowing
In the blackness of the night

A book is like a treasure chest
To open up the mind
A poem settles in the soul
And stays the rest of time

Alright, Liz.  That does it!  No more perfect rhythms, no more excellent verse, until you attend the Toerag School for Writing Twisted Poetry - ya hear???  I really enjoy this poem - it flows so smoothly, and says so much.

This is where I find so many of your poems rest within me Liz. I shall tuck this treasure away also ...

Best wishes,

Thank you.

I heartily concur...this says so much, and so beautifully. Liz, once again, my friend....

Liz,

Beauty, tears, joy, what do I say, well your poetry is etched in my heart and the blackness that I once lived by you helped lift so much thanks because I live a brighter life.

Love, Cerenity
