What can I write of the parks, where the grass was greener,
of the alleys, the school and the metro?--
What would you see, when to you, my dear reader,
even the present seems to be retro?
Thus when writing above the parallels of gray rails,
I cannot satisfy you with the feeling
which the gray memory of my past still unveils.
When I stare at the ceiling,
I can see two shadows in the process of making
love, just as fervid and earnest
as the original copy. I can feel my soul shaking.
Like the flame in the furnace,
she gave off such warmth! which, alas, you shall never
obtain from paper alone, even by burning.
And only by being idle, do I achieve what I’ve endeavored--
evoking in you the bottomless yearning.

Master, you have a true gift in word...I hope that you realize that. This is a remarkable piece...each image, alive.
