What can I write of the parks, where the grass was greener, of the alleys, the school and the metro?-- What would you see, when to you, my dear reader, even the present seems to be retro? Thus when writing above the parallels of gray rails, I cannot satisfy you with the feeling which the gray memory of my past still unveils. When I stare at the ceiling, I can see two shadows in the process of making love, just as fervid and earnest as the original copy. I can feel my soul shaking. Like the flame in the furnace, she gave off such warmth! which, alas, you shall never obtain from paper alone, even by burning.
