Take it fast, or take it slow...
Let your cares and worries go...
Set your course, then choose your speed...
Write it down for all to read...

Never steer into the sun...
Don't let go for anyone...
Close your eyes and hold on tight...
Burn the midnight oil for light...

Start out early, don't be late...
Never let the big boys wait...
Polish this and spit-shine that...
Show the world just where you're at...

Learn the rules and play the game...
Climb the ladder.....reach for fame...
Show the boss, work constantly...
Do it where the boss can see!

Make suggestions...Use your voice...
Make them listen...leave no choice...
Make them notice who you are...
Push yourself to go real far...

Write the rules, then play your hand...
Claim the ground on which you stand...
If these things you choose to heed...
Chances are.........
                    You Might Succeed!!!

Today is a gift....
That is why they call it
'the Present'!

Hi Sunny,

I hope your day is going well, my friend.  I used to be exactly as you described and sure enough, it works.  However, after years of doing just that, I quit and chose a more simple life, one with more time for my family and friends.  I'm much happier now.  This is a very good poem and the flow is wonderful.  I love ALL your work and eagerly await your next poem.  Take care.

Michael

Sunny1,
This was another excellent write.  Forever penning something that seems to always be just the appropriate words for me.  I had to print this one out as I will be starting a new job in a week.
Again, excellent work.
Brighten my day again.

Paula...
The meadow is the perfect place to be, I agree. And I usually make up my own rules...that's what this was about!!  You just have to pick out what's right for you and the hell with everything else!!!!
              Thank you, girl!!

ggrn3....
Oh, good luck with the new job!!!! That is really great, and you'll do fine!! Take the rules that feel right to you, then add a few of your own.  And I'll be thinking about you next week...let me know how it goes!

Hi Sunshine...
You can't fool me!! I know that you live as well as I do!!  I can tell it in your works, so enough of that........I'm not that smart...just experienced!!!!!
and you will always be my sis, for as long as you want to be..........

Sunny, good advice, I have the hardest time to follow it though. Nicely flowing work, as all of your writing is.

Sunny...you do indeed tell it like it is, but when the gypsy call beckons, we go our own way. You write so many, and so well you do. A talent you are, and it shows in what you write.

Hi Corinne....
Sometimes I have a hard time following my own rules......Ahhhhh, human nature, I guess!!  Thank you for stopping by!

Hi catalinamoon....
Thank you, my friend, and none of us follow our own advice all the time. Down deep we all know tucked away, and we can call on it when we need to!!

Hi Bill....
I usually just write what I feel at the moment, and whatever strikes my muse!! I'm glad you came by to read and reply. Even gypsies need to land now and then!
