I, Eagles Claw

I,
Eagles Claw,
stand high upon this cliff,
proud in the sun
that warmed my ancestors,
and gave light
to all the days that have passed.

I,
Eagles Claw,
having seen the buffalo,
like grass on the plains,
slaughtered and rotting in the sun,
replaced by crossties and rails and trains.

I,
Eagles Claw,
having seen our mighty nation,
so proud, so free, so unashamed,
forcefully confined to a reservation
broken in spirit, told they're to blame.

I,
Eagles Claw,
warrior, battle scarred and lame
having climbed once more
to this eagles nest, am old,
and soon will join my spiritual brothers.

I,
Eagles Claw,
having fought the bear,
soared with eagles,
danced to the drums of war,
swear to all the land
that I will never
give up in  defeat; because

I,
Eagles Claw
son of Great Bear
and Speaks So Soft,
last of the old tribe,
am Proud
to be
a Redman

Tho redmans blood flows in these veins
An Indian name I cannot claim
Still I feel the call of the ancients song
Eagles Claw you stand there not alone
Proud and fierce wild and free
No white man can tame us, you and me
As long as there is blue up above
And the wind whispers its call like the cooing dove
Warriors like you shall ride the wind
Til the Great Fathers call you home again.
Pride in our race...in our ancestory
Thats what will keep us forever free

Eagles Claw

you transcend all time
you shall be of the earth
with the earth
the earth

in your spirit
on the wind
in the land
of running water

forever shall you reign

Eagles Claw

of one mind
gather in all ancestors
and let them speak through you

Eagles Claw

it shall be
that your death
will bring others to life

if they would but learn.

I thank you my brothers and sisters for the kind words and poetic returns.  We are brothers and sisters with the tribes in spirit if not in blood. Our hearts are one.

Climb high and sore true,
Upon the still winds,
Because you'll live forever,
Natural,
Your blood ever mends .

Immortal and brave,
Invincible and true,
Your cries never vanish,
Not fadeing from view .

I loved the poem it inspired me . The cult truly rule the Earth .
Thanks alot .
