His words are still warm in my heart as I brush the sleep from my eyes my hand brushes lips I'm awake in surprise to find I start this day smiling. Just to think that he might be just a little fond of me... makes wonder I just might be okay, after all... through the crumple of sheets, and brushing of teeth, I startle myself with a glimpse mine own eyes-- like the rustle of curtain, the flicker of shade, in a house dusty and silent, the owner away, I startle myself as I think-- someone's there... |

sudhir and chanson, I thank you much--just read this half asleep poem and I'm half laughing now, I wonder, is it a good thing or a bad thing to be startled by signs of life in your own eyes...methinks I worry too much...thank you, yawning and smiling, off now for coffee and poetry... |

Wow oh wow! I had to read this through a time or two, to allow the spooky magic of it to sink in! LOL I can see this, I really can. And yes, it is okay to see life in one's own eyes...it's completely ok. "It's about darn time," I've said to myself in the mirror before! LOL This is a really unique piece here, the style, even the content. Gives that wonderful scent of a new beginning...aaahhh. Thanks for sharing! |

Serenity--I really enjoyed this look into your morning mirror and your heart...sometimes we see ourselves so much we forget to really look. |
