I am who I am...
And I will always be...
You must understand that I...
    Don't want to feed your fantasy!

Take me as I am...
Or turn and set me free...
I can't be your perfect dream...
    Don't want to feed your fantasy!

I won't play a game...
Just give me honesty....
I prefer the cold, hard facts...
    Don't want to feed your fantasy!

I could give you more...
Than you could ever need...
But I want love on BOTH our terms...
    Don't want to feed your fantasy!

So, take me as I am...
And through eternity...
I will give you what your heart desires...
         ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    And I will be your fantasy!
Today is a gift....
That is why they call it
'the Present'!
Sunny1,
very brave of you to post at such a time when everybody has been taken up by the ANTE UP challenge....
but with such a tremendous piece of writing, why should you wait for the tides to subside...
lovely...
Sunny, good morning, and what a perfect little poem. Yes we have to be ourselves, but in doing so, maybe can be the fantasy also.  Nice thought.
Hi ladysixstring....
                     Yes....that, to me, was the most important message in the poem!! It has to be that way, or there's no balance in the relationship, at least that is what I've found!!
        Thank you for coming by !!!!!!!!
Hi Sunny,
A fantasy dreamt could be a fantasy lost, but a love that is real, will not fade away. Nicely done Sunny, as always.
Hi Paula....
             Well, I hate to disagree, but in this case, the fantasy came first....then the love for the fantasy developed, with no reality involved.......strange, but true!! Thank you, my friend.....I enjoy discussion!
Hi Bill...
          Wise words: a true love does not fade away....but if love is built on a fantasy in the first place, truth will see it fade in the end!  Thank you, dear friend!
Hi Mark...
          Thank you for coming by to say hi, and your kind words about my work! I agree with you, BTW.
Hi Gemini...
            You are always so nice in  your replies, and I hope I can write many more for you to enjoy, as you have done so for me!
Hi Jamie...
           Yes, you are so very right in that one.....all kidding aside!! Sometimes a fantasy has to do, until the real thing comes along!!  Thank you so much and good to see you today!!
Hi jmlee 12345....
                Yes, you are also right. Fantasies are such personal things, that each one of us looks at them in a different way, and they are part of us. It's like art, or music, or poetry.....we all hear and see as individuals. Think how boring it would be otherwise!!   Glad to see you here!!!
Hello Sunny,
Very well said, my friend...very well put.  I liked the line "And I will be your fantasy"... of course, I liked them all, but being yourself can often be more of a fantasy because of truth, than any dream could ever contain.
Take care,
Michael
