From the Water

From the sea there was more than reflection
on a body of water....
to the water's edge came inspiration
with driftwood memories
of shorelines distant....
a wind-driven thought
of a voice so far away
echoed through the slip....
the waves pounded melodies
clear to my heart
of a song sung with my shipmate.

Robert, this is beautiful. Those memories are just like that, aren't they?

RobertB~

You've got some remarkably poignant thoughts here -

'to the water's edge came inspiration
with driftwood memories'

'the waves pounded melodies
clear to my heart'

This piece is tight and polished -
I like it.

Now?? Robert, since I first began reading your work, you've had a style all your own. This piece carries with it a gentle  reflection of memory and inspiration. Really nice writing, and excellent title.

Hello RobertB......

Many a time I have found myself sitting at the ocean's edge, just reflecting. You brought back memories of some very nice moments with this piece, and I thank you for that!!  By the way, I like your style!!

Oh Claire....you are so right. I often think I do not have a style.

I am glad you have happy memories on a water's edge Sunny. Cherish them.
