I've always been a gambler.
Sure bets are not my thing.
The game's just not worth playing
if you don't risk everything.

To look across the table
and into someone's eyes
who holds my future in their cards,
gives me such a rise.

Slide me over five cold cards
and I'll see what I can make.
If you don't watch my every move,
the whole kitty I will take.

I'm betting my whole heart
and hoping you'll bet more.
I've learned that anything worth having
is always worth cheating for.

So, hold your cards close to your chest
and let's finish out this game.
For I have a major stake in this
and I'm hoping you feel the same.

So, tell me what the ante is
and I'll lay it on the line.
And if I happen to lose this hand,
I'll try again next time.

You played the cards close to heart, met the stake and well and truly won.
