Earth 3rd Rock from the sun!!

0 posted 2000-08-21 05:09 PM

I haven't been the same
since you came into
my life
You shared secrets with me
now I am i am dieing to see
have I found the paradise that
I lost long ago
you helped me look deep in my soul
helped me found a way to be whole
found a way to touch my soul
Now I don't want to let it go
maybe I made you up in my mind
it has taken much too long
now something has come over me
and I don't know if your real or
just something I've imagined

now something has come over me
will you set me free?
something has snuck up on me
I wonder if you can see
'cause something has got a hold of me
now I know how it could be....

'cause I no longer need the sky
my arms are open wide
and I don't need the air
I just need you to be near
and I don't need the stars
just want to see inside your heart
and I don't need the sun
between you and it
you've already won

cause something has come over me
I want you to set me free
something has snuck up on me
I wonder if you can see
and something has a hold on me
Now I feel how it could be

and today I thought of you again
leaving logic and reason behind
making me unconcious
head spinning
overwhelming desire
longing for you
drifting in your arms
a feeling i'll never forget
tell me have you felt it yet?
did I make you up in my mind?
are you real?
can I get over you?
when the curtain drops?
Never want to say goodbye

something has come over me
is it real?
could it be?
tell me will you set me free?
something has snuck up on me
tell me can you see?
something has a hold of me
Do you feel how it could be?

JulieAnn,
It appears that you have given some of the charateristics of the type of love you are looking for. I feel a bug nibbling at your toes.(LOL) Anyway, that love is out there. Don't give up the search.
Excellent poem.

I thought the whole thing was wonderful but this part... "'cause I no longer need the sky my arms are open wide and I don't need the air I just need you to be near and I don't need the stars just want to see inside your heart and I don't need the sun between you and it you've already won" just really stood out to me.  Exceptional!!
