We all have heard the saying
that we are but a speck of dirt
when compared to god
the universe, and time,
but there are moments when
the truth comes about
that living is important
that loves strength is pure,
when time could be useless to us
and the wind of the heavens
comes cleansing our pain
for a days reunion of peace.
And we as the specks
become mountains of hope
that reach to the stars
beckoning all to follow,
that we become more than
simple composites of molecules
electrons, and DNA floating
in bones and skin,
that our purity released
for all others to view
is our greatest pleasure
and our grandest gift.
That we rise above mear duldrum
and find that second to grasp
becomming years later
when we see all of our hopes,
which we then tell in stories,
poetic waves of soulfull memories
and prose meant to lift hearts,
which then we find
that we are not just mear puppets
for everyday existance
or other peoples uses,
that god, or what you may keep
looks and smiles, gladens his heart
to find that the specks
have become more than them selves.
And when all is done,
the wind shall come
lifting these words, feelings and love
to the universe for all to have.

On this, the first day of school, I needed these encouraging words.

My favorite lines... "And we as the specks become mountains of hope that reach to the stars beckoning all to follow,"

Stunning!!!

I love this one.  You have such insight to so many things Michael.  Your writing reflects this.  No wonder you are a famous published poet!!!!  ( Well, it is just a matter of time!)

Michael G. Very lovely piece from your heart. I've often thought of myself as a rain drop in the ocean, just haven't figured out how to put those words together yet.  You've captured it well.

I admire the ease with which you have presented your thought process in this piece. Very readable, I enjoyed it.
