This world constantly
places road blocks in my path,
in the hopes I'll turn around
and not attempt to pass.

But I continue on
a little further down the road,
caring not about the weight
which is added to my load.

My step is light, my stride is sure.
Though this path be paved with stone.
Loneliness never enters in
for I do not walk alone.

I have to smile at the passer-bys
who think me weighted to the ground.
They listen close for my cries of woe,
yet they never do hear a sound.

For I have someone watching me
who is quick to hear my call.
He is the bearer of my burdens
and He is my all and all.

He walks down this road beside me
and whispers comfort in my ears.
He knows just where we're going
for He has walked this road for years.

He holds my hand.  He soothes my soul.
Not a worry or a care have I.
'Cause when my days on earth are over
I have a mansion up in the sky.

So do not waste your pity
as you take notice of my load.
There's another who bears the burdens
and walks beside me on the road.

Very determined language in this poem and a forceful theme of stability through trials and tribulations yet with such a  spiritually peaceful ending...very good writing!!

A comforting... spiritually soothing poem.  I especially like... "He holds my hand.  He soothes my soul. Not a worry or a care have I. 'Cause when my days on earth are over I have a mansion up in the sky."

Very sweet and well put.  The spiritual aspect really shines on this one as does your heart.  Beautiful.
