Deep within my heart I knew this moment had to be... Love is sometimes possible, but not this time, for me... Time and Distance played their hand, and all the dice were tossed... Winners>>Keepers, Losers>>Weepers Now I pay the cost... Does anybody know how much a damaged heart will bring? It's not completely broke in two... The crack's a little thing... He only took a piece of it, The rest of it is mine... Winners>>Keepers, Losers>>Weepers It will heal in time... Now I wonder where I go to mend my aching soul? The word 'goodbye' with it's sharp edge... Has left a jagged hole... Maybe someday someone new will put a Bandaid there... Winners>>Keepers, Losers>>Weepers Treat my soul with care... Of all my broken parts, he treated this one so unkind... He left me with an aching head to house my aching mind... If you could help me find a way to rock my mind to sleep... Winners>>Keepers, Losers>>Weepers Tender words you'll reap... So this is what I offer, all my pieces, all or part... And maybe someday someone else will help me mend my heart... I guess I'm too romantic, could it be that I'm just blind? Winners>>Keepers, Losers>>Weepers One true love, Next time.... Today is a gift.... That is why they call it 'the Present'! That is beautiful. I love the part about the heart not being totally tore in two. Because it is ture you are left with the most part. Great poem. I'd say keep trying because it is just a question of whether you are the winner or loser. I think you are the winner because it would be worse to be stuck in a relationship that fell to pieces after a committment. The real winner will be both of you when you finally find each other ....and you will!! Great writing!! |
