State of constant confusion!

0 posted 2000-08-19 11:15 PM

Just so you all know this is not something that I have experienced personally, and I hope I never will.....This was inspired by a friends tragic story
Just wanted to let them know that I am thinking of them....ALWAYS!!!

Today I found myself in tears
Yes, crying once again
Thinking of the love we shared
Of walking hand in hand

I recall that big bright smile
The twinkle in your eyes
Though you've been gone for such a while
I dare not say good-bye

I remember you asking "Daddy?"
"What makes a garden grow?"
"And how do the birds fly so high?"
"Please? Tell me if you know!"

I remember all the little things
Took for granted in their time
Images flash through my head
As I slowly lose my mind

The day you left us I asked God
"why? He is so young!"
"Why did you have to take him now?"
"His life had just begun!"

Then I shook my fist up to the sky
And took God's name in vain
And in my fit of anger I screamed
Just as it began to rain

Your little face is still so fresh
Here upon my mind
And I begin to cry again
As my thoughts again rewind

When life just doesn't seem fair - and we have no comprehension of His greater plan... Poetry is at its best... Nicely done, JC..

You've done well to portray the doubt, the loss, the pain, Jeffrey. It is very much this way.

BDC, Thank you for the high compliment....just wish I could help in some way to make their pain disappear.....I only thought my life was bad until I thought of them....now my life seems pretty good by comparison

Nan, Thank you ..... my frind is really having a hard time lately.....I just hope he can see that God does have his plans for us all

Claire, Thank you.....I just put myself in his shoes and this is what came out......not easy to watch a friend suffer knowing that nothing I can do or say will make their pain go away......so I just pray for them

These always bring out my tendencies to be paranoid and over protective of my children... I never know how to comment.  I try to read and keep it surface level... like peeking between your fingers when the movie becomes too scary.  You did good.

Jeffery this is a heart rending work of poetic art....it's amazing how poetic lines can help the broken heart regain some strength and at least take some comfort from the memories....you have done a wonderful job here..I commend you!

Jeffrey,

Wow, this was powerful and filled with emotion my friend.  So glad it is not true, but sorry for those that it is true for.  It is unfortunate that these things happen at all.  Great writing my friend.

Jeff...what a friend you are to these people...hugs to you because I know you are feeling thier pain almost as deeply as they are...there are no words that can take this kind of pain away...just be there and listen, thats the best gift you can give them...and I know you will.

"my thoughts rewind"

Some days we want them to and some days we don't. (sigh)

very impressive writing Jeffrey.
