Cinderella,
the one with glass
slippers couldn't help it
for it was a minute past
midnight and she forgot!
She forgot to ask
his name, the only one
who could help her out
with hitting the nail
on the wall to
hang a lofty
painting
of love...

And she forgot!
She forgot to
even borrow a hammer,
so she could have
used a do-it-yourself
book and hit the nail
into the wall herself.
Yes, she forgot.

She did and so she
used her glass slipper
instead and hit
the slipper on
her head
instead
crucifying
her fate...

And the blood
led her to rest
in a painting
of her own
in misery
with no one
for company!

Then came the fairy
late, for the ferry
that night had come a
wee bit late.

Seeing blood and
misery splashed
upon a lifeless
painting,
she waved her wand
and there came a prince!

A prince, who picked up
Cinderella, held her
and they smiled into
each other's eyes
and the fairy
smiled too.

She took out her Nikon
camera and took a snap
and the photograph
took its place on
the cover of
a photo album
instead of the
painting being
nailed on
the wall...

--------
Thanks once again, Doreen... for being such an inspiration...

Sudsy, this had me cackling.  I immensely enjoyed your if/then style on this one, and the illogical logical steps.

"And the blood left her to led her to lay in a picture of her own misery with no one for company."  I loved this stanza. And I also agree with Mark, you are a master of your own style.  It's great. I admire this originality.
