       Aye, it was the I

I bit into an apple core
That stayed as chyme forever more.
It filled my belly, filled my brain
Made me conscious of the reign.

Now I be a kingdoms heir
With all the problems and the care.
The realm is small, there is but one
And it is I, till I am done.

It came to me as mystery
From mystery to history.
For all escaped Pandora's box
Was to me a paradox.

Yet I am full of apples chyme
And there is nought but spend the time.
I never knew an apple core.
Could open up forever more.

Aye, it is the I and awe,
Sends me through whatevers door.

I like this line... "From mystery to history."  but even better is... "Aye, it is the I and awe, Sends me through whatevers door.".  Wonderful air of mystery here.

Seymour~

'The realm is small, there is but one
And it is I, till I am done.'

A bit of intriguing thought here, my friend.

Hi Sy,

You dear sweet thing and mean right down to the "core" you make me laugh and I knew by the title this was going to be worth the read, and this line shall live forever

The realm is small, there is but one
And it is I, till I am done.

you just made apply history,

I loved this poem
It says so much
I hope whatever's door isn't the waterfront
Say, do you have any more of those apples?

"Aye, It was the I" - I always knew you be a worthy shipmate, me laddie.  This poem is very intriguing - I had to read it a couple times to get the theme.  You are definitely not a Hallmark Cards writer - lol.  Your works always come in from an angle.  I like that.

The key combination of words to me is: "incredibly intriguing"...
a lovely title... exceptional follow-up, and exquisite writing...

Well if you play pool you always shoot for the angles. LOL Beautiful comment.

Seymour this is great! Is it true an apple poem a day will keep the poet doctor away or is that just another cliche?
I enjoyed the read thoroughly!!
