No Matter What People Say

After caring for someone for so long
It's hard to stand on my own and be strong
But starting a relationship with someone new
Is simply somthing I am not yet ready to do
But why doesn't anyone seem to understand
I miss the gentle touch of his hand
Knowing he was there for me
And thinking he would always be
Someone I could trust and count on
Even if I called him at the brake of dawn
He loved me for who I am
And that takes a lot for a man
He always knew what I was feeling
And even helped with the healing
I miss the fun things we did
Just being goofy and acting like a kid
I can't erase all the memories I hold inside
But yet I can't forget the tears that I've cried
I miss him each and every day
And I will always love him no matter what people say

Well, if he walked away then he obviously didn't... "He loved me for who I am".

But this piece leaves the "reason(s)" open... where did he go? Why?  Was it by choice? Tragedy?  I'm left wondering. Very nice job.

Princess,
you're right. . . no one can tell you what to feel. . . and even though you let go. . . even though it's over, you still can't help but think about them. . . it's just natural. . . only you know your feelings. . .

This is a wonderful poem. . . welcome!!!  And please stay for a while!!

Princess
What a wonderful piece for your opening post.  And your right.  Live your on life and never let what people say affect you in any negative way.  Your poem shows that there was a strong bond and I'm like Ladysixstring; I'm left wondering.
Great poem.
Welcome to Passions.

Poetry Princess...

Always hold onto your memories, no matter what the people say......this is such a beautiful poem, and bittersweet, but written with your heart.

Beautiful thoughts...painful memories seem to be so strong but there does come a time when beautiful memories come forward and it is a tender time...I know what you mean..after losing a four year relationship I miss the companionship...James

welp. I've been there, done it...and I can say that there's also the reverse side of the coin in that once you've been alone so long, you have a hard time letting go of YOU, and giving to someone else. So I don't know which is better.
