I'm in the room
It's like a box
every side closed
but yet I am here
still quite composed
even though I can't seem
to find my way out.
It's just a box
so why can't I just break out?
there's no bars
I don't even need a key
so why do I feel like an animal
caged up here.
It's just a box!

The box that is your mind is a tighter prison than any man has made...you hold your own key

Rosebud

I definitely agree with Paula. Also when you are placed between two loved ones, this can  make you feel boxed in.

never easy being in the middle and fighting to get out.  Your verse is wonderful and your agony is quite evident.  Good write.

This poem makes me ponder the following thought... sometimes we are caged because something deep inside wants us there.  A sense of comfort with the familar, maybe.  It takes courage... not strength to break out.  I've got a few fears to reevaluate now.  Thanks!

thanks ladysixstring and Mark I guess this came from a fear of not knowing and sometimes really not wanting to know at all. But sometimes you feel like you've locked yourself in maybe for the good of yourself. It's something I guess we all must struggle with at times.
