Where have they taken,
my Lord, who once lay here?
Somebody has taken
the One I love so dear.

Someone moved the stone
in the middle of the night.
Now all I see are angels
completely dressed in white.

They are sitting in the tomb
where His body used to lay.
I know not where He is.
Take me to Him now, I pray.

Where have they taken,
the body of my Lord.
The One who raised the dead
by the power of His word.

The one born in a manger...
who then walked upon the sea.
The one who preached and healed
and then died upon a tree.

Where is He now?
Please tell me if you know.
Tell me where you took him
and to that place I'll go.

What is that you say?
It is you who once was dead.
I go now to tell the disciples
everything that you said.

In the tomb for three days,
but I see now that you arise.
Soon to meet your Father
you will ascend into the skies.

--You can either take me as I am...or you can watch me as I go.--

Rewording a familar story is like a singer covering another artist's song.  Sometimes it can be very hard to pull off - but you did!! and wonderfully too!!

Tennesse Angel

I loved this work of art. You elegantly portrayed Jesus' brief life in a poem.  Excellent!
May I make one suggestion for one verse. Please do not take offense.  I think the poem is great. The line about the tree kind of threw me just a little.
Read your verse and then my suggestion and tell me what you think:
"Then one born in a manger
Who then walked upon the sea
The one who preached and healed
And then died upon a tree."
         my suggestion:
The one born in a manger
And upon a sea he walked.
The one who preached and healed
And then died upon a cross.

Again this was excellent work.
