'Tis Naught But Love

'Tis naught but love
that stirs my soul
swirling it round and round
in golden hues of thee.

'Tis passionate fever
that inflames mine heart
that stokes the flames which ne'er be quenched
when I stand before the temptress thee art.

'Tis Holy Grails and Knights Templar
'tis save the king,
protect the queen,
I'll spill my blood for thee my love.

'Tis show me one small favor please,
just your banner to carry with me,
and if thine heart be mine to possess
I'll swear my allegiance; my life to thee.

W. James Beard, Jr.

NOTE: I looking for a glossary, dictionary, website, etc. for/of old english/shakespearean words...you know, thee, thine, ne'er, etc....all those ones I want to use but don't know exist...tks. Jimmy

This is wonderful!!! I kid thee not! You should be knighted and given the fair lady's banner to carry from this day forward!
               I really enjoyed this!!

...and a couple of thines, now and again.

Such a lovely missive, James.

thanks much, my friends, and since I wish to write a little more this way, I will endeavor to get better, and try to use the language a little more correctly as I learn how (if). It's actually kinda fun to write.

I will visit the Man's sonnets, Mike, (don't know a sonnet from a bonnet but will look at them...)and the link you gave JM. Appreciate both.
