When a woman falls in love,
She sees the world a different way...
And all things rise above forgotten
              dreams of yesterday...
The sun shines down upon her face,
             as fresh as morning dew...
           Emerald eyes begin to shine,
             Each time she thinks of
                      you...

It doesn't matter what her age,
             A woman always knows...
It starts with a giddy-feeling stage,
           From there it only grows...
         It sometimes happens overnight,
            A thing she can't control...
She thinks of you and she can't fight
            the longing in her soul...

You may be quite within her reach,
              Or far across the land...
You might be free and single or a
                very married man...
She may be locked up in a cage that
                hasn't any door...
          But that just doesn't matter,
She is falling more and more...

The situation looks, at best, like
               some bad fairy tale...
The only contact life allows is
              through electric mail...
But she knows fate can bring two lovers
              that which they desire...
And all that time apart will only add
                 fuel to the fire...

There will one day be a place where
              eyes and lips can meet...
And all the waiting time between will
              make it much more sweet...
And when at last your love is joined,
            complete throughout all time...
Then you'll look back and read this love
                 she gave to you..
                    in rhyme...

'the Present'!

Hi Michael...

Oh, I'm so glad you liked this!! I think a lot of couples get together after a long distance affair, and sometimes that just makes it better!

Hi Michael G...

Sunny you're letting out all the female emotions in this piece. If it was'nt for the love that women possess what would we men have to fall back on. I think this poem is entirely sweet and truthful....and you girls are really good at lovin your man so much so that we can't keep up sometimes.

You have given many of us an anthem to sing in our hearts. This is so very true in every word you say and it doesn't take a woman to know that.  Your words flowed perfectly and grasped my heart with gentle tugs of anxiety.

you have also given me much hope.

Sigh....Sunny....You have certainly touched me with this one. You do write with gentleness and the tenderness that resides in your heart. My oh my, and 12 sighs, I bow my head in graciousness to you and this writing.

sometimes our eyes will see
visions which cannot be
the sun that shines so kind
so often keeps us blind
to things of here and now
that shadows can avow
in that light we mistake
love for want of loves ache
sometimes when our thoughts turn
to love for which we yearn
and to this end conspire
a distant love to fire
that we may be remiss
in remembering this
