All good things in life
have to come to an end -
some come to a grander,
more beautiful end than
some other but then,
what the heck!

Another good thing will
come along it's merry way
to play with us, spread joy,
and gladden our souls.

It's a way of life, this,
as is the fact that seasons
change, as nature changes
her skin, the bark of trees,
the greens of the leaves
fade turn yellow, drop out
and then grow new, fresh
tender ones - infants -
babies of today, the youth
of tomorrow, old of the day after!

All this while in the distant
fourth planet of the sun,
a conga drum beats with its
constant dib n' dab - tip n' tap...

Some call this world rap,
others say it signifies the
falling of the grains of sand,
an abacus, counting
beads measuring the
passage of time, steady.

While the drum beats,
the poets sit, brood,
lament, imagine, hope,
despair, love, hate, write,
scribble, erase, rewrite,
create, rework, recreate,
cite, recite, echo, escape,
evoking so many emotions,
emoting so many sentiments,
augmenting constant change
of styles, of ways, of means,
just like seasons change.

And then they finally say
all good things in life
have to come to an end -
some come to a grander,
more beautiful end than
some other - I do too!

This is a fine ramble Sudhir, inspired by another who rambles so poetically well! Wonderful collection of thoughts!

Best wishes,
/Kit

Sudhir~

'Another good thing will
come along it's merry way
to play with us, spread joy,
and gladden our souls.'

How fitting are these phrases ... my soul is gladdened.

You picked up the 'drum beat' of a really good poet
and played it melodiously.

WOW!!!
This is the first time ever any poet used my name in the topic line of their post... (oh, except lngjhn looking to incite a cat war!!)

Thank you so much for mentioning me and i can't tell you how happy i am that i could in some way inspire such pensive and creative work! I am flattered and honored.

you carry on the drum beat well, m'friend! Loved these lines....

"While the drum beats,
