the night speaks
the radio sings
but they don't give me the joy
that only your love can bring

the wind whispers
the moon smiles
but they don't give me the warmth
that you feel across the miles

the leaves rustle
the trees sway
but they don't give me the caring
that for tonight I quietly pray

the clouds parted
the sun shone
but they don't give me the love
that I need, waking up alone. . .

Sven, this piece touched me... waking up alone has inspired many poems from my pen, as well. Lovely writing, my friend.

Waking up alone?  Buy a cat!!!  LOL

I think this is a very different side of you we haven't seen often.  Sometimes being alone can bring the best poetry.

Well, Sven, you certainly have a way with this lady!     You always melt my heart with your poetry.  If you're waking up alone then there is something seriously wrong with the women where you live.  Either that or you don't let them see this side of you.  Excellent piece!!
