          "PRECIOUS GIFTS"

I've had a dream for many years of loving someone,
who would love me back with open arms and a joyful heart,
and would smile and giggle with me, and cry
each time that we might be apart.

One who would read books with me,
draw pictures, and tell me a rhyme.
Someone who would bring me joy and happiness,
each and every day, until the end of time.

My granddaughters have made my dream come true.
I can't wait to see and hold them, and buy
them sonething new.

They love to go shopping in and out of the stores,
coming home with large bags of goodies, so tired,
but asking for more.

I am thrilled watching them grow and learn,
but I wonder what their future will be,
and what college to attend is a concern.

Each time I see them brings back memories of their Dad, when he was that age, and love guided his way.
There is also lots of love and guidance for them, to help pass through life's journey, each and every day.

At night when I am lonely, I lean back and think of how they both look in pink dresses and lace.
Those beautiful blue eyes and hair of blonde have taken hold of my heart in a very special place.

"I love these Precious Gifts of mine."

Beautiful indeed, and OH how I hope your son has seen this and hope that you've saved this for your Grandkids to read one day!
All the love you have to share could go around the world!
I love your poem!

Thanks for your comments.  I am going to frame the poem (one for each) in a fancy frame and give it to them as a gift.  I hope they like it as much as everyone else does.
Thanks again.

Hi 'didi'...a very nice poem that you have written. I liked it very much and you must keep writing with this talent that you have. Just keep placing the words paper, and it will come alive.

Thank you for your generous reply.  I must find more time to write and sleep less.
