State of constant confusion!

0 posted 2000-08-16 04:26 AM

Where moonlight shadows grace
the white of new-fallen snow
you will find me waiting there for you
Still clinging to the promise
of yesterdays dreams
Only to find out that tomorrow
has come and gone
Leaving me to live life outside
the realm of reality
Feeling as though my saviour
has left me here to die alone
Still clinging to the hope that
I shall someday be free of your
wicked charms
Searching everywhere to find an answer
to the mysteries of love and hate
How can it be that you have only
now found the possibilities
so overwhelming?
As if you had kept your eyes closed
for all these years
Saying forgive me just doesn't cut it
anymore
Today life starts on a brand new journey
A journey to find inner peace
Inner peace and tranquility amongst all
the filth and rileness of this world
A new beginning to find true love
It may be a long walk, alone and
often scared, but I will find what
I have been looking for so long
So give me the oppurtunity that I so
desperately need
Remove the grip your memory so strongly
has over me and let me learn to live
and love again

Jeffery this a powerful expression of deep inward emotions.....a most wonderful poetic work...it shines in the eye of the mind.... excellent writing!!

"Remove the grip your memory so strongly
has over me and let me learn to live
and love again."

great words I think they could woven into the content of a song quite easily.

You've expressed yourself beautifully in this Jeffrey!  I sense a positive "wake to a new dawn" feel that I love so much ... it may be a long road, but always the most satisfying, once you know which direction to take. You seem to have found that. Very nicely penned!

Best wishes,
/Kit

It is hard to move forward when someone won't let go of our past... "Remove the grip your memory so strongly has over me"  I read the other comments and wanted to avoid using the same word as the majority but "strong" truly is the best word to discribe this one!!!

I have been there and beyond..first I wanted her to say forgive me...then it didn't matter anyway...I just wanted to move on...James

Jeffrey, these lines, in particular, moved me. Making one's way out from under that promise of yesterday's dreams...such a challenge, one that I am still struggling with. Thank you for expressing this so well, my friend. It's a lovely poem.

A heart like yours will learn to love again Jeffery, I know it will.  You have a good heart and there is another that one day will long to make it theirs.

Hugs,
