State of constant confusion!

0 posted 2000-08-15 08:49 PM

It's quitting time
again tonight
Much too tired
to put up a fight
Give in to
temptation's ways
Only to have
heart broken and frayed
Seeking some solice
in a bottle again
Try to find
a happy place
Somewhere inside
The mind of this man
Only to wake up
ears ringing loud
Try to blend
nervously with the crowd
Try to survive
and make bigger plans
Only to be back
tonight at this bar again
If you should pass me
somewhere on the street
Or if by chance
we should happen to meet
Don't think me poor
or deserted or lonely
Though I'm always alone
I always have her memory

Oh Jeffrey, I feel your sadness and broken heart in your beautiful words here. You have a very big heart, one that loves with all it has...a quality well admired. I wish I could paint the air with healing as you sleep tonight so when you wake up in the morning you will be mended and aware of the doors that have opened in your life, instead of the one that has been closed. But I can't so all I will say is my heart will say a prayer for yours tonight and hope that you hear it.
Love breaks our heart but it also love that heals it.
Take Care.

Jeffrey~
Well now .... glad to see that it's patched-up.

However, it was still an indepth look at the melancholy of heartache.
Sometimes it's just necessary ... yanno ?

Jeffrey - Very beautifully written, my friend...and SOOOO familiar!  It took me back to the time when my ex-wife and I first separated, prior to divorcing.  I moved back in with my parents for a little while, and Mom took all of the prescription medicines in the house and hid them for fear that I would use them to commit suicide.

Fortunately I healed with time, and now have my wonderful Pamela and sweet little Morgana - but I still remember how tough it was, at first.  Thanks so much for sharing this excellent piece, my friend - I love you, man!

Interesting poem. I feel your pain.  It seems to me you will be better off expressing your pain in this way instead of drowning same.
