Drought

The evening finds
my eyes aligned
believing light
where shadows show

And leaves, in lust
for daily dew
lick naught but dust
in garden's row

And what of fruit
that fails to fall?
Can kindness cure
its bitter bite?

And will the skin
so seldom kissed
embrace with haste
the nearing night?

Claire~
You sure know how to caress a word.
This is wonderfully expressed.
