As sunlight fades and mothers call,
...to children on the lawn,
Evening's hush falls on the land,
...another day is gone.

First cooling breath of eventide,
...whispers to the night,
Awaken from your daytime slumber,
...illume now welkin's light.

Luna blooms in evening's glory,
...Venus ope's her eyes,
Orion starts his stately watch,
...as guardian of the skies.

Children to their dreams delivered,
...on wings of heaven's glow,
As comes the night at day's demise,
...to earth, her grace bestow.

Ensconced in bosom of the night,
...until first hint of dawn,
With the kiss of sun's fresh light,
...another night has gone.

Jealousy rears her ugly head once again, Mike...gentle and thoughtful as a setting sun...and just as lovely...and yes, it flowed...darn it...gotta figure that out, lol...

"illume" ... loved that.

This is as tender as the gentle closing of drowsy eyes. Again, such expertise with ink, my friend.

Such a placid, visceral, inspiring piece of writing, my friend. I cannot think of a more peaceful commentary into night.

Mike~
My stars !  How lovely !

'First cooling breath of eventide,
...whispers to the night,
Awaken from your daytime slumber,
...illume now welkin's light.'

You certainly do poeticize !
Your work is such a pleasure to read.
