when for ourselves ...

wanting whens to chance upon everyday
when never ending toil resides

be the dream of many to never come
when our ship finally arrives

a special day indeed for us
when the bluegrass greenly grows

the look forward nearly kills
when the spotlight shines aglow

anticipation's stone throws heavy
when in darkest night

sinking before a skip to make
when a call comes to fight

to our dying days at last we come
when we meet in our when

a return to dust ever so fast
for ourselves we will fend

My calling before me, let quill be my offering;
For to be called poet, no greater gift to receive.

entry accepted and up for review....
now take the verse as it lies
and with it see what you can do
rules are rules..no compromise.

Very beautiful piece by the way and I thank you for sharing it....it does fit but you know the rules.
