His M.O.

With power wielded
in opposing tactics
one hand withholds
while the other
strikes
snake-like.

He never sets us free,
tell me,
how can we be
unbound
yet always
restrained?

There is a metephor the Dr. Freud might like to comment on. Snakes and being tied up, wanting to be free but not. I'm a little confused.

But, to jump right in, not knowing what is the real meaning, I'll just say be wary of any snake charmers, with rope...

Thanks, Nan, ehtome and Park.  It's about Satan, that dark side always at the ready when you slip or fall.  Real odd poem, I know, sorry about that!

Very cool poem...this is where the slightest weakness is taken advantage of...we must always be on our guard and check ourselves daily...some of us choose not too.....it is all our path to find and hopefully not too late.....very thought provoking....me thinks me is in trouble though...LOL

how can we be
unbound
yet always
restrained?
...
free yet tied to the stake
cool like ice
yet burning -
defaced, defrosted,
consumed by the enticing cake,
apple eaten is
just a step taken,
toward evil, closing -
slipping senselessly
...

Corinne,
You have inspired a flurry of thoughts with a great poem...

regards,
sudhir
