Darkness has wrapped around my heart,
with the tenacity of a lion.
Failure has struck me like a dart
and my heart's to the point of dying.

I've withered in my pitfall
and chatised myself for my errors.
I swear that I gave my all,
in hopes of a life that was fairer.

I've looked into the mirror
and seen a black curse.
I've entered upon terror,
like Satan in church.

I've wondered when my ill-fates,
will be reversed to happiness.
I've took all that I could take,
to the fervent tune of crisis.

All of a sudden, the dark clouds
around my heart dissapeared.
Then optimism sand aloud,
to the vision that was clear.

Then I saw a ray of light,
that shined across the sky.
It's aurora shined so bright,
that tears fell from my eyes.

I knew that it was God tellin me,
to hang on and don't cave in.
He wanted me to rise and defeat,
all of my self-doubts from within.

Thanks to ray of light,
my days have become bright.

Oh my, this was absolutley wonderful. So full of sadness and pain at the beginning. Your heart was so tormented and you turned it all around near the end and found your inner light, your love for life..........this was very inspirational to say the least.

We must have been in the same mood as of late as I just wrote something along those lines about strength. We all have it....sometimes it takes "that special" something or someone to help us find it.
Great poem here.

Truly a wonderful piece...I can totally relate to this one, however I find my solace at a differnt place, you have poetically summed up my feelings from within...great job

"my love is my motivation
my love is my inspiration
perception of this poem
is your interpretation"

Nate, my friend~
Such positiveness from within ...
it's a good thing !

'I knew that it was God tellin me,
to hang on and don't cave in.
He wanted me to rise and defeat,
all of my self-doubts from within.'

Amen to that !
So good to see you, my friend.

I know all too well the darknes of which you speak. Glad that you have found your light, great work!

God grant me the serenity to accept the people I cannot change, the courage to change the one I can, and the wisdom to know it's me. ~Unknown
