"wake up baby, c'mon and take a look outside,"
she said, "there's a full moon shining in the morning light
and there's a cool breeze blowing like a piper's pipe
and there's tongues of fire chasing the night."

there's the smell of fresh coffee floating through the door
and I can hear her foosteps on the kitchen floor,
the radio clock's playing an old Sinatra tune
and I'm under a spell between the sun and the moon.

Oh the lips of light you give to me,
tell me your inward cares
and the anxious hopes you need to speak
are dreams you want to share
and God sent you to rescue me
from a heart locked in despair.

Oh ..there's tongues of fire bringing me light,
there's a voice in my soul calling my mind
and there's a breath on my heart like a warm summer breeze
and those old tongues of fire are glowing in me.

I was answering the call on nowhere boulevard
just a one way lover with ice in my heart,
but these tongues of fire are melting the freeze
and there's a vision setting me free.

ETHome~
Oh, what a lovely verse ...
singing softly on the flow
of melodious phrases
caught in early morning glow.

I enjoyed this so much.

This was good, I had a rythym in my mind as I was reading it. I love the last three words, "setting me free"..........so much said there. Great flow!

PS So you are a Canadian also. Nice to meet you.

BRAVOOOOOO!!!!!  Ethome, this is one for the books of all books.  The whole thing sings with passionate phrases each one shining on it's own...as they said it ROCKS.  This one definitely goes into my personal file under FLAMING.

I don't know how I missed this saturday when you posted it - but sure am glad - I caught it now. - I can almost hear the notes - it sounds so singable (is that a word?)

if you don't mind a suggestion - I think the 2nd verse - with slight modifications - could serve as a chorus

I really loved this ethome - in a way you're speaking for me - and I suspect some others too.

Thanks Butterflies for the groupie comment I thought it was so cute.

Thanks Wil Y I imagine there are many who can apply this to their own situation.
