As Promised

last night
the stars exploded
the moon phased
gave it's show
rainbows fell
upon the earth
and lined the path
with colored glow

the world
then ceased
the way it was
the kisses rained
from cheeks
so fair
she wrestled thoughts
of loving felt
and treasure boxed
the time
they shared

today she looked
to take a peek
and wondered if
it all was true
lifted lid
stood back to see
escaping
brightness
reflecting you

she reached
to touch
the dusting glow
the sprinkles
landed
kissed her face
then with a whispered
breeze of breath
they traveled down
to rest in place

on heart
she felt
the warmth of night
the building burn
from touch of eyes
then fireworks
set off the sparks
that ended in
her deepened sighs

she felt the arms
that held her, 'round
the scent of his
still lingered near
remembering
his smile on lips
each time she
whispered in his ear

how much she longed
desired him
his lips, the way
he moved and swayed
his words that captured
all his feel
she loved this memory
of yesterday

so quickly, she
then closed the box
to savor
what remained
inside
lined in velvet
pouched in gold
'til next time opened
last night resides...

Maureen I don't think you meant to tell Bill that you have been reincarnated from a teacher to a poet did you? Naw.. you've always been a sweet romantic poet, you were a teacher so you could buy the pen and paper to write this beauty down...
What is in that box that would make magic dust capture your heart and take you on a tender loving trip into the past? I can guess and I'll probably be close but aw heck I'd rather you just write another one to explain it then I can read it and enjoy it....take care.....ethome.

my oh my you are on a roll are'nt you!

Maureen--oops, I read this one second...but it was still grand...and I'm so glad you wrote the other, as I would have asked with ethome.
