The years pass by uncounted
but the minutes I know by name
each second since I’ve loved you
no measurement is the same

The time it took to make a star
means naught to me you see
for in that star I find the love
that I wish you had for me

We’ve subdued the jungle beasts
but my heart will not be tamed
I’ll not hold back a nanosecond
and thus said, I feel ashamed

This love took not a moment
to find a home within my heart
I do not know when it will end
nor am I sure when it did start

The clock held within my heart
doesn’t count time in normal space
it’s measured in the times I’m held
within your loving embrace

Keeping the past as a time-piece
enslaves those who would keep it wound
each named minute will never cease
until in loves arms we are found

You always put such feeling in your poems.
Wonderful as always.

Nice writing deVine.  The end was just perfect.

Great lines and an equally great poem, my friend.  Excellent!

Oooooh! I like this one much I do! What a love you describe!  But a one sided one sucks!

The stars shall shine at night
Forever they shall be
Someday you will find your love
Just trust me, you shall see

Don't make sense does it? Oh well! In the head and down on (paper?)

As some indication of how I feel about this poem - JMHO - it belongs in a published anthology at the very least, and more than that- like growing tendrils it grabbed my heart

Now this is a sweet love beyond reproach.  You have penned a preface to the worlds manual of pure love for the eternal at heart.

Loved it in style and flow.  Superb.

Beautiful poem and timeless in it's ability to reach out and grab you.

When Cupid's arrow dipped in deep love penetrates the heart it is so darn hard to get it back out...remarkable portrayal of the depth of love that can hold one forever or so it seems...great work!

Ms. Poet, your poem is lovely...and its theme rather reminds me of "Time In a Bottle."

I admire anyone who can get "nanosecond" into a poem! LOL!

I agree, Mike.  Good thing Ms. DeVine ain't country to the core, elsewise it'd be nannersekens.

DeVine One, I gotta say I really enjoyed your definition of Time.  Would that I could measure intervals that way.
