She's the center of my attention in every scene we play,
Rehearsals are unnecessary, we've thrown the script away.
I prefer, instead, to improvise a different scene for every day,
With my lovely starlet, Lorelei, my queen of film and stage.

I play Anthony to her Cleo as we float serenely down the Nile,
Held in rapture on her royal barge, enchanted by her smile.
Willing to abdicate my kingdom just to spend awhile,
With my lovely starlet, Lorelei, who has my heart beguiled.

I'm King Arthur and Sir Lancelot, to her lovely Guinevere,
Both losing her and winning her every time she's near.
The kingdom may crumble around me, its destiny unclear,
With my lovely starlet Lorelei, there's nothing that I fear.

I'm Marshall Dillon to her Kitty, in the wild and untamed west,
Standing up for what is right, with a star pinned on my chest.
Winning against all villains, always coming out the best,
With my lovely starlet, Lorelei, riding into the sunsets.

I am Romeo to her Juliet, her true love to the bitter end,
Forfeiting family birthrights, forsaking all our friends.
Longing for just one more kiss, feeling our hearts blend,
With my lovely starlet, Lorelei, dying in her arms again.

The mics are set, the cameras roll, the director gives his cue,
Our love is perfect for each play, there's never a Scene 2.
She is the star, I'm second billing, part of the stage crew,
With my lovely starlet, Lorelei, its what I'm born to do.

Find your starlet or your star, don't worry about the score,
Don't worry if the lines are right, or what the play is for.
Just play the part of timeless lovers with the person you adore,
And you'll bring your silver screen to life like its never been before.

LJ this is so sweet! You can tell this was sung from the heart! It has that certain ring to it, you should put it to music!

Beautifully written! She's a lucky gal, and I know she knows it! AS you are a lucky guy!
Now this is love in MOTION!!

Never thought that we were players in this game called life...but it's a lovely way to put it!  I count my blessings daily and try my best to live up to my "star"....he's wrong in putting me at top billing...he's the one who shines!  Somehow though, we both manage to play the parts to perfection, (most of the time anyways) and life is sweet.
Thank You Mike

Thank you one and all for these great compliments.  My muse is hungry, and you feed her well.

Lorelei - I love you.

This one was truely beautiful and the sincerity in it shows well.  I would say that your little play is doing quite well and I predict a sequal of such.   Your muse serves you well as I am sure you feed her with only the best. Great write.
