Be still, my noisy heart!! The only sounds that you should make are gently beating rythms with each breath this body takes... His words of love aren't meant for you, so close your open door... And lock it from within, so love won't break you anymore... So long ago, when we were young, I let you slip away... The emptiness grew bigger with each passing wasted day... I'm sure that you remember when love gave you back to me... A broken, noisy, jagged heart, for all the world to see... So, Quiet Please...don't let him know how much his new love means... Don't jump to false conclusions, reading more than what it seems... I've got to let my brain decide if I should even start... To give you back the key to set you free, my noisy heart... I hear you beating wildly as I ponder what to write... I don't appreciate your noise within my dreams at night... So, now I'll try to listen more to what you say to me... Would you be happy, With his heart, To keep you company? Life is a gift.... That is why they call it 'the Present'! |
