You said that you loved me,
You said that there was no one else,
Now I find that you have lied to me
If only to protect me from myself.

This is my heart,
Do you see it?
This is it here in my hand
It's been bruised and battered and
     torn apart
But yet, I gave it to you
In the hope of a new start.

And what did you do?
Professed your love for me and my heart
Said that you couldn't live without us
But yet. . . but yet. . .

The dance is over, and now he's come back
To take his place as your partner
But I took you away, I sailed with you on
The dance floor,
Swept you away on a wind of music and melody

Yes, my love,
I took you to places that you had never seen
And will never see again
As he dances with you off into the sunset
Remember me and never forget
Never forget that our steps were in time
       and that ours was indeed
A dance of love. . .

Sir Sven, I am honoured to read this poem...

What could bring such sadness to such a Knight as brave as Sir Sven??

Brave heart, take thee yet a chance
and fling it back in face of romance

This is a poignant piece, Sven.

I liked this expecially...
"This is my heart,
Do you see it?
This is it here in my hand"
