From softest ember she imbues
Her light in shades of reds and blues
Flickering ‘round the nimble mind
Daring you, her heart to find.

Light that warms, yet doth kill
Fascination at her will
Tame her? There is a doubt
She’s only yours when she is out

Warm your hands on her smile
But beware of her wile
She will woo you closer in
Envelope you within her sin

Saddened then, at her demise
Blackened in her cold dead eyes
Mastery of her passionate ire
Douse you now, this passion’s fire.

my hands were warming just reading the lines.
When you're hot you're terrific but when you are on fire you just "Burn me up"
I ought to come back here more often just to keep up with your work!

With all the fires burning in the west and your ability to turn a headline into a thought-provoking treasure, I was expecting something totally different. *S* But the pre-conceived notions fled without protest... this is great!!!

This is flamin' Sharon!

Just the way I like em! You've written an awesome poem! Truly the fire does captivate one. Long as it's one you sit by. Excellence!

Excellent Sharon!  What a beautiful flow, and the imagery was electric! Much enjoyed this heated verse I did ('scuse me now while I go grab the extinguisher ... there's some smoke coming out the back of my monitor?)

Best wishes,
/Kit

SCORCHING is the word....

I used to be in soup then
swimming in boiling broth
I am in fiery flames now
burning in embers wrath...

The heat of passion out of control is truely one to be contained.  You have done well with the imagery and of course in turning the forum up a notch or two.  Wonderful read as always.
