Joy thru Sorrow (Inspired by Khalil Gibran)

I climb Mt. Sorrow
the snowy peaks I must reach
then I might see Joy

Streamside Sonata

Sitting by a stream
lost in its maundering song
thunder plays the bass

Inner Beauty

The beauty within
Attracts the best of the earth
Love that gives not takes

the last is really more of a senryu

Prometheus; These are exquisite! The third
is my favorite! You are very good at this
Haiku poetry. ellie
P.S. thanks for your lovely responses to my writing.

Summers haunting melody
that awakens
the butterflies,
calling them to join
the dance
in their silent song
of praise to God.

You have all been so kind and tolerant that I decided take it easy on you by not putting these in 3 separate posts

Again thanks for your wonderful replies.

Jamie...I sometimes Haiku with  poets as responses and one time they continued on all day..with me..I do believe there may have  been three of us but I am the  saver of all..so I can't give the proper  poets their due..except to thank them and say I love all of those poets and wanted to share this group with you...especially since someone on here loves the Haiku...I will bold mine ...(but am not positive which were mine and others  I will look it up later and make the necessary credits due...

Sunlight bright shining
Where did you go this morning?
Come shine bright for me

Could you be brightness
With glimmering velvet eyes,
And smiles on moist lips

Hug me with warming,
Make me notice not the clouds,
Make me to be yours.

Cloudy skies though dark
Hold power behind the soft
Colors to release

Gazing into eyes
A flower feeling so soft
Brightening the sky

Emotions will fly
Pushing back the gray of day
Lost in velvet eyes

~Velvet eyes~ to warm
Swirling  breezes to surround
Cloak you in brightness

Flying now swarming
Swirling with lyrical voice,
Emotions warming;

Touching of your hair
Brushing back a fallen strand
Caressing with care

Smiling with moist lips
*Blushing* warmth rises from touch
Eyes kissing your thoughts

Moist eye to moist lips
Cradle your head in my hands
Cascading hair slips

Framing velvet eyes
Softly kissing parting lips
In happiness cries.

Eyes to eyes in pools,
Reflecting wants and desires,
Senses overwhelmed.

Eyes see the fire,
Caught in a touching caress,
Reflects desire;

Gazing in deep pools,
Gains flames in the tenderness,
Refuses to cool.

Heat captures the night,
Velvet blankets desires,
'Til the morning dawns.

Prometheus,
I loved all three, perhaps you can email me with the difference between a haiku and a senryu as I can't seem to find it.

Be well
Kethry.
