Just when I think
It’s more than I can bear
Another endless day
In The Golden State
You come along
Ferrying love
Without doubt
Making it
Damned hard
To stay scared
Instead I find
Our private smile.

Corinne...
Some works are so great that they
stand alone with out the need of a title.
           This, my friend, is one
                  of those!
              Wonderful last line.....

I have but one goal in
life.......
Not to have but 1 goal
in life!!

Yanno, endless days are not half as bad as endless nights (spent alone).  This poem brought forth so many images of new love meeting desperation.  But the love isn't new, is it?  So complex, this poem.

These short poems, I know they're secret messages, this ones about lips. Sweet red ripe lips, with bright whites. For big sweet smiles and thats what this title should be.. sweet smiles.....

or as an alternate, Private Smiles... its not what you think or is it.

Parker....

I know i'm losing it again.

Sunny1, thank you, you are very kind.

LongJohn, it's about long distance love, something a lot of folks in this room can probably relate to (at one time or another).
That separation does lead to feelings of desperation, but knowing that there is hope of joining bringing on that smile that two share.

Park, oh, Park.  Where is Sigmund when you need him most!

Thanks, Martie, I like that image too, used it once before in a poem about a river...Stealing from my own stuff! ha!

Thank you, Sudhir, Spitfire, Mark, Nate and Salooma.

Spitfire, always enjoy your work, too.

Siggy, "vemale examinations" eh, sounds as though you've had a lot of practice in that area! Gee, all this time I thought you were a head doc!
