The Show Will Carry On...

Centre stage had at once been dimmed,
Hallway lights were soon switched on
The ticketed show deemed to be over,
But life's free freak show must carry on.

Lights at the end of the dimmed corridor
Blinked in steady green, 'This Way Out'
Red streetlights caused a tricky traffic jam,
The real show had just begun, no way out!

The sign in green exhorted me to WALK
Across the zebra striped in white and black;
An enthusiastic biker screeched to a halt
As if almost ready to pounce upon my back.

I found my way back to the tram stop,
Checked the time - ten minutes to go
Noticed a couple engaged in a brawl -
Arguing over events of a long time ago!

"You are a fool!" said she, quitting the scene,
"Yes! Fooled by your lies!" he shouted back.
This show had also folded. I stood amused
as the tram ambled near, time to hit the sack.

Tomorrow is another day - it always is,
Assured myself that 'The show will carry on'
Whether bright and sunny or gloomily rainy,
Better check out that one tomorrow dawn.

The Main Street lights were now dimmed,
And sleepy night-lamps were switched on
Another day ended, closing another act
But life's free freak show will carry on.
~

Ah...the show will always go on I'm afraid, be we actors in it or not  Here's my take on the whole thing

Play Of Life

Yes the world it is a stage
And we are merely actors
Our script it is dependent on
Many unseen factors
We have no choice, but act life out
To take each day as they come
I hope to make the play I'm in
A least a good long run
If I can bring just one bright smile
If I can ease one pain
This simple play of life I'm in
Shall not have been in vain

I agree with Sunny, as we conjure up so many ideas with what we see around us.  Wonderful poem, Sudhir.

This one juxtoposed with Kethry's Dreams of People Passing By makes for a very interesting comparison in the art of people watching.
Once again your pen inspires thought Sudhir

Sudhir--I love the show you put on with your words...I am a watcher too, I think that is something that people who write do, in common...gathering material I call it, or getting filled up.  Enjoyed the look at your world...it's not so different from mine.
