In the space between moments

0 posted 2000-08-08 12:32 PM

This is a little different from my usual, a little more 'raw' you could say...but I felt a need to write it, and so here it is.  I truly belive (and I have seen my share of them) that love is the only way to conquer the demons within us.

Hungry, empty, soul eaten
In swells of starless shadow
Your wounded spirit drifts...

I see myself
In the apparitions of your eyes
We have both bled
...and fallen...
Suffering alone in the starkness
Of the hollowed skies.

Vulcan's wrath has tortured
Leaving scars within
His flame has now iced
And only withered dreams are seen
Within the windswept ashes.

Fleeting breaths of light
Slowly dwindle away
From the phantom once known as you.

Let me hold you now...

Feel the space between us blur
And mingle with lucid morning
Allow the midnight shackled to your limbs
To gently fade away...

And know now
That the only way through
Is simply to love
Like never before.

Great poem, Krista! I loved how this one played out and the message it holds, indeed I hold it true that love is the way to bind our demons. Oh, and that end verse was spectacular, sweetheart!

krista, i very much agree.  love can conquer all, cliched as that sounds.  love the line:

"we have both bled
....and fallen....
suffering alone in the starkness
of the hollowed skies."

mmm, for some reason that reaches me.  i think everyone can identify with loneliness and heartache.  lovely read, my friend.  i like the 'rawness' as you call it.  like to see more of it

Hey Krissa, nice poem, and nice view.  It's one way to look at all the pain and suffering we go through... and how to overcome it.

I find it hard to say how much I like this. Your words have always been magnificent. This is darkly beautiful. A departure for you to be sure, but you can do anything!

I'm really glad I caught this one Krista! Well, it may not be your "normal" style, but it is one that nonetheless fits you perfectly! I really enjoyed the imagery and the hard hitting emotions!

A bravo lady!

Chris
