Where Creation Finally Breathes

The flow
is so illusive.
To scrunch my eyes
and push it from my pores
is to bruise my skin
searching.

I’ve tried humming
a mantra to the muse
only to find
silly past fragments
that kiss the sound
into a sigh.

Don’t expect to hear
it knocking with thought
in delicious anticipation,
the flow is so gentle
it waits for open doors.

You must come around behind it
without appearing to be looking,
and then walk with it,
no walls
no time
   no dimension
only this sweet movement
that comes from a place
that weeps with vision.

It is the space
where dear freedom
takes its first step
and creation finally breathes.

smiling here Martie...   I read in awe the continuing flow of your poetry... each poem a gem unto itself... and have such a hard time visualizing you scrunching your eyes...

Martie,
You grab me every time I read your poetry.
A gentle kiss would do me fine. *L*

This is lovely - and "creation" certainly is a subjective term... It can have a unique interpretation to each and every reader... Nicely done, my friend...

Hmm Martie...you have to sneek up on yours from behind? Mine jumps me whenever it chooses and generally when i am unprepared....lol.

I love this piece and the way you created it.

When you are old and grey and full of sleep,
And nodding by the fire, take down this book,
And slowly read, and dream of the soft look
Your eyes had once, and of their shodows deep;

How many loved your moments of glad grace,
And loved your beauty with love false or true,
But one man loved the pilgrim soul in you,
And loved the sorrows of your changing face...
