Listening to every heart

Crossed Over

dust to dust
ashes reclaimed by earth
every trace gone
of life since birth

crossed ye over
to the promised land
on command
by demand

and grains of sand
count all hours
of life devoured
since

if I had but one wish
in which I could abide
to touch your soul
to see you safe
and in God's home whole

to see pink roses
from kith and kin
that peace be yours
held close within

all the answers
in my universe
by a choir rehearsed
that your love is dispersed

there and here
and that angels cheer

I know ye've crossed over
walk in honeyed clover
that no pain will ye bear
up there

so know
I'm content
though life is spent
missing you.

Such wonderful words of sentiment and hope....I hope this is not due to a recent real life happening for you....It is not easy even though we know of the elation now bestowed.  Beautiful

Sunshine, I love it. Wow, this is fantastic.

"and grains of sand

so very true. Just a handful of sand is our measure when its all said and done. I am in awe of this piece.

Karilea, my friend~

You stirred my soul with caring ...
my eyes with tearing ...
my heart with remembering ...
but, most of all you touched me.

My love and my appreciation.

Mark, any loss is "recent" in time...some of us take a little longer to express our grief than others, but if it helps anyone else see the light, than that is all I can hope for...thank you...

Thank you Tony...

Alle', I appreciate your comments, thanks...

SEA, that is all I could hope for, thank you...

Sudhir, thank you for picking out what touched you most...

Marge...when souls touch, tears form rainbows...thank you...

kcl - first, Welcome to Passions! Second, enjoy yourself here, you will find that most everyone's work comes from their heart, which makes this truly a most special place...

Wow! This one touches me deeply.

God grant me the serenity to accept the people I cannot change, the courage to change the one I can, and the wisdom to know it's me. ~Unknown
