~Confused and Consumed~

Do you know you take my breath away,
Do you see the way you make me feel.
God, I want you so desperately ...
I'm to the point I would beg, borrow, and steal.
I didn't intend for this to happen,
I didn't plan on feeling so attracted to you.
This fantasy has become my reality ...
and I'm lost in knowing what to do.
I didn't know this was gonna be so hard,
Why do you have to be so far away.
There are so many obstacles to overcome,
Fate has dealt a hard hand to play.
I'm always trying to remind myself ...
there is so much we still have yet to see.
And I have to be honest and realize,
if you knew the truth, you'd let me be.
I wonder if you knew my depth ...
if the intensity would scare you away.
I wonder if you knew my need,
if you would even want to stay.
I feel so many things tonight ...
I don't even know who I am.
There are so many things that hold me here,
but right now I simply don't give a damn.
So I sit here alone, confused and consumed ...
wondering if I'm on your mind like this ... or even if at all.
And I'm holding my breath and praying ...
while looking for a soft place to fall.

~Waiting On A Sign~

She stands in the corner ...
waiting for his sign.
If he could only just let her in,
contentment would define.

Her need so intense,
it draws and holds him there ...
While at the same time,
his long protected heart, it does scare.

His body he offers ...
his emotions he spares.
She understand his reasons,
there is only so much ...
he can allow himself to share.

Still he comforts her gently,
with his gifts of verse and rhyme.
Embracing her pain ...
with his perfect words so sublime.

All she really wants ...
is to ease his tired mind.
They both learned long ago ...
reality can be unkind.

Her eyes see his heart,
hidden between the lines.
She is so drawn to his words ...
the intense depth of his mind.

Consumed by him ...
she would give herself away.
Contentment comes with much cost,
her heart being the price to pay.

More than she wants him --
she wants him to see his own light.
She wishes for him the vision  ...
to see himself with his gifted poetic sight.

So she tries to accept ...
he's not hers to hold.
Still fate brought them to here ...
In time the reasons will be told.

Until then, she stands in the corner ...
patiently waiting for his sign.
And she writes him this poem ...
hoping to reach him with her rhyme.

Trying To Find Purpose
Vertical Horizon

Well the sun sets gently on your shoulders
And it makes me want to touch you there
And the light in your eyes makes me feel
Like there's something much better out there
Something kind

Chorus:
And I know someday I might be looking around
Trying to find some purpose
Well purpose it can't be that hard to find
As long as I've got the wind
The wind and your love to carry me

Well tomorrow holds only mystery
And who's to say what might be
But I know in you I've found a love so strong
The sun and the moon look on in jealousy
In jealousy

Well the sun sets gently on your shoulders
And it makes me want to touch you there
And the light in your eyes makes me feel
Like there's something much better out there
Something kind ...

To carry me
Please carry me

Janet, these were wonderful to read again. You are best when you let your emotions run free in you verse..... and probably dangerous when your hormones run free in the wind....lol

Jan, I know that you are getting tired of your moody muse and the lack of inspiration. If I may be so bold the good thing about these reposts is that I can catch up on all your wonderful poems that I have missed. Repost or not these are gems, but I expect nothing less from the POetry Goddess- agator.

searching for you," Joy divison
