Holding hands
To show
Affection
Walking one way
In wrong
Direction
Of trafficked street
Subject to
Head on collision
Better might be
Your love discreet
To make sure
The wrong way
Is right decision

I wish there were
A land for me
I’d close my eyes
And drive for miles
Never hit a
Lover as me
Love is free
I’ll take you
Hitchhikers all
Along the way

Hey Walt great play on words....wonderful read....even when two are together things can be so wrong even though they look fine... being trapped inside a bad relationship makes one want to run away to a better place..... good writing!!

A cautionary tale, Walt, but nevertheless--

"I wish there were a land for me..."

exactly the sentiment that compels the magic of the road...well done, walt...as always, still your prez...

LOL Walt, your title got me! You are so creative with your words!

As far as the 'gas' goes, you'll have to resort to the natural kind from beans...like it was in the Alley

I see you're beginning to lean toward free verse a little here lately. Unexpected surprises from Walt.
