The hardest words to say must be: "I'm Sorry"...
They never seem to flow like all the rest...
They break my aching heart..
They make the crying start..
They put my pride through every stupid test...

I stand before you just to say: "I'm Sorry"...
I really am, to me it's not a game...
Though I don't know you well...
I was hoping time would tell...
And you might want my friendship just the same...

Now all I have to offer is: "I'm Sorry"...
I'll miss your tenderness and heart so true...
If ever there should be...
A time when you need me...
I'll be here waiting,
                     Just to help you through...

I have but one goal in
life.........
To make you smile!

this one, sunny1, although i enjoyed the poem... i don't really identify with it... to me, "i'm sorry" are probably two words i say more often than i should...the two easiest words to say...

i apologize for everything... i apologize when i'm not wrong, just to bring peace... i say i'm sorry when it's raining if someone hates rain... i say i'm sorry to a person who has hurt me, just to let them know i forgive them... i apologize when mcdonald's forgets the ketchup... i'd probably apologize for death, if anyone would listen...

i figure, there's only two things you can expect out of life.... getting some decent poetry out of it and a good apology

thanks for the read and taking me through this thought process

Hey Sunny how are you....I'M SORRY I did'nt post a reply sooner, whoops, well you know what I mean.
Great poem you put it together so well and expressed how those two words are extremely difficult to say sometimes.

My wife said to me one time.."the two hardest things to say are I love you and I'm sorry."
I immediately answered her by saying, "no they're not dear just listen....I'm sorry I love you!"

I'm with doreen peri - in that I find those 'sorry' words easy - rather I find them easier than not saying them to be precise. - That said - I still loved your poem.

Sometimes these words are hard to say and mostly when it comes to one you love they just don't seem to be good enough...Your poem has taken that away and says volumes with class and style.

Now all I have to offer is: "I'm Sorry"...
I'll miss your tenderness and heart so true...
If ever there should be...

I'll be here waiting,

Hello vandana....

Thank you for bringing this one back. I truly believe those two little words are really the hardest, maybe because a person has to lower their pride, and admit they're wrong!  I really am glad you liked this!

Sunny1 - how ARE you today?
Seems to me you've always got
so many things to say...

You paint lovely pictures
the whole world wants to see
but then you take a moment
to say I'm so sorry...

Don't worry little Sunny1
we're all here for you,
we admire your true spirit
we're so in love with you!

***

Hello my friend...
I see your muse is shining bright
through the day into the night
no one knows, but just we two
our passion is what sees us through.

You've done wondrous things
my heart is full of song
and to think that I might fit a bit
and in your world, belong!

Hugs, my friend...

This was beautiful Sunny ... such wonderful sentiments and a perfect message to someone whose forgiveness your must cherish so. For only 5 letters, sorry is one of the most important words in the dictionary when expressed from the heart ... and you've done so beautifully.

Best wishes,
/Kit

Hello Sunny,
You are so right, "I'm sorry" is so very hard to say. But perhaps sometimes, it is words that can't come out. Best to you.

Hi Sunny, Once again a piece of work so well done and it lookes to me your, "I'm Sorry" was said better than the two actual words could just be spoken. As always, you always find the words. You have a gift...Sunny.
