Standing with the bottle on the
  seashore in the sand.
A prayerful message sealed inside
  for someone's gentle hand.

Tossing it out to sea
  on a journey all alone.
As it floats along the waves
  to places yet unknown.

Out across the waters
  not too far away,
Sat a lonely lad
  contemplating his last day.

Then upon the shore
washed the bottle to his side.
He took and read the message
  that the bottle held inside.

A sudden burst of emotions
  took him by surprise.
And the anguish of his tears
  fell freely from his eyes.

This miraculous message
that found its way to him,
Gave him the strength and hope
  to once more live again.

How often have I thought of tossing out a message in a  bottle. And what a lovely idea, that its finding would change someones life. Wonderful poem.

This was very sweet. I can see the poor lad sitting there reading.............
I liked this, refreshing, full of hope.

I only started to write recently.  I posted my first last night.  I guess you would say this forum is my message in a bottle.

Hi Eloise,

This is so magical, so wonderful wouldn't it be great if we all received a bottle filled with hope at least one in our lives, thanks for sharing.
