    “PICTURE POSE”

Hello pretty lady,
That I see in that photo.
Is that fairy dust in your hair,
Or might it be the falling snow.

Then perhaps I was mistaken,
And it wasn’t either one of those.
But it was just the sparkling light,
Radiating from you, in elegant repose.

It’s a gracious smile that you show,
Accented by those sensuous ruby red lips.
If I could just reach out and touch them,
You would feel my soft gentle fingertips.

Your long dark hair flows down your back,
And soft blue eyes, set in that beautiful face.
All of the above makes for a charming pose,
For someone that shows so very much grace.

I looked up into the heavens,
Not knowing what I might see.
I searched and searched all over,
Waiting for a sign that could be.

Then I saw a star fall out of the sky,
And I followed it, as it came down.
“Where was it going?” I asked,
As I watched it hit the ground.

And then all of a sudden it came to me,
When I looked again at that picture pose.
You’re so much prettier than that streaking star,
Because you’re more attractive, than a flowering red rose.

So, now I sit here and I daydream,
About how pretty you really are.
And just maybe, that one of these days,
I’ll come by and visit, if you let me come that far.

Bill,

   Awwww... soooo sweet Bill

"Then perhaps I was mistaken,

This was my favorite verse   I love your writings as usual!

Bill, this is such an engaging poem...to hold the object of your affection with such sweet regard. Lovely.

Bill

I just wrote a reply, think I lost it.  Anyway, nicely done with a beautiful story. The words seem to flow and weave their magic.

Bill

Your words seem to flow like magic and tell a loving, beautiful story.

Your poems are so enjoyable and each one tells a different story.  You have a mystical pen.

Bill! Bill! My hair isn't dark,
it's red as you can see -
it doesn't flow down my back
or reach down to my knees.

My eyes are not cornflower blue
but plain old common brown,
so I must deduce I'm not the
one creating words so profound!

So I'll just sulk - what the hell
in this area I do excel!

Lovely poem, just teasing ya!

Good morning Corinne,
Well I don't know what to say, except that you have given me some inspiration to ponder when I begin a new writing. Thank you for stopping, and thank you for your kind words.

Another great poem, I also liked your one about the mermaid

has to go through the white heat of the furnace to become
porcelain."

I am not the gentle lady
in the picture that you drew
but should you write those words to me
then you would have a clue
as to how to speak and such
and ultimately know you've touched
a heart that thought indeed to be hidden
now love comes softly in words you've written.

Yea, Bill!
