the stranger within

I am the stranger
inside this shell
that lies wearily on the bed
and finds no comfort
I am the one whose
sorrow surmounts
the ability to cry
I am the pain
I am the stranger
whose words need
scream injustice
but finds no tongue
I am the stranger forced
to live inside
the minutes
as the hours roll by
my eyes stare into
the emptiness that invades
what is left of
my sanity
and I have to wonder
what it would be like
to step
outside...

Corazon that will go away with the first deep meaningful kiss that covers your lips and the fire from that contact will melt that cold emptiness inside and turn it into a lust for life....remember these words...

well done poem I was totally taken in by the content.

So many of us have traces of these strangers within...very emotive writing, Corazon...thank you.

damn girl!!!!

powerful piece... i know that feeling sooooo well... can't wait for you to step outside either... let me tell you, the sun is shining once you open the door... there's nothing worse than feeling like "that stranger within" and as usual, your poetry brings chills up my spine with the truth of all you share. thank you for sharing this one...

ethome...I hope you are right   thank you

meadowmuse, thank you, a compliment from you means much

serenity...will give you hugs if this speaks to you, your heart must be heavy...but thank you for your kind words

sudhir, thank you kind sir, your applause makes me smile

doreen thank you, your understanding means I did it right   course when I wrote this the "step outside" meant something darker, but monday morning finds me a bit more optomistic
