This is only the second thing I have written in my life.  I have a best friend that means the world to me, and they have inspired me to write this.  They have also made me feel alive and young again.  I hope you like it.  If you like it let me know and I will post the first thing I wrote.

David D.

MY BIGGEST FEAR

I am not afraid to die,
however I cannot lie,
my biggest fear is of you.
I just don't know what i would do,
if you were to forget all about me.

It is something I don't even want to think,
but when I sit here in the dark and begin to drink,
I have thought of you forgetting about me.
That is a day I never want to see,
and pray for it never to arrive.

I will never forget you or your touch,
but for you to forget I fear so much.
I will never forget your eyes or your kiss,
but it is something that I will always miss,
if you were to walk away and never look back.

I only fear the loss of my true friend,
and hope that this will never end.
I close my eyes and ask God not to let you forget,
but if you do I would only have one regret,
that I did not die first.

Now thats what I call being a best friend. Your friend must be honored to have such a poem written after them. Post the other poem as well.

Welcome to Passions

Welcome to Passions, David... This is a very touching poem.. Being aware of our feelings is soooo important, as we have a tendency in our lives to make our greatest fears come true... Check your mailbox for a special greeting..

Hello David,

This was a hard poem to write I think. Many emotions to keep in control while you put on paper (or computer screen) thoughts about these emotions.

Myself...I would not burden these emotions with the limitations of rhyming. They need to be free. I do mean FREE.

Never encumber an emotion.

I applaud your work in rhyming this.
